Ensuring you have an Effective Employment Policies

Many businesses start off with the key policies in place - Disciplinary, Grievance, Equality and Health & Safety. Then, as the business grows and more people join, the more situations arise where a policy is needed: someone gets pregnant so a maternity policy is needed; someone gets called for jury service so an absence policy is needed.

We offer two services for Employment Policies:

  • Review and update of existing Employment Policies where you already have employment policies in place but they may not reflect recent changes in your business or employment law.
  • Adding new Individual Employment Policies where you have an existing set of employment policies in place but would just like to add some additional ones to cover new scenarios.

If you have nothing in place then we recommend our Employee Handbook service.

Employment Policies: Review and Update

We can help you fill in the gaps in your existing policies and also review and refresh anything that you already have that may not now quite fit with current UK employment law.

If you already have employment policies in place but feel that they may not reflect recent changes in your business or employment law, then this would be the best option for you.

We’ll review what you’re already using and update as appropriate.  We’ll also provide you with additional policies if there are areas where your business is currently unprotected.

Service Key Features

  • A review and update of your existing policies to make sure that they meet business need and fit current UK employment law.
  • Confidence that you have everything in place to make managing people that little bit easier.
  • The work can be performed either onsite, offsite (by phone and email) or a bit of both.

Pricing

Our services are from:

  • £95 per hour for offsite support (phone and email)
  • £120 per hour for onsite work

depending on the work required. We'll speak with you to understand your requirements.  We'll then give you an estimate of the number of hours we expect the review and update to take.

Of course, it's always difficult to be completely accurate as you never know what's going to happen when people are involved.  We will agree any work before it is performed and keep you updated on the costs as they accrue.

Note: For new clients, we may request a percentage of the fees up front.

Refer to our pricing page for more information.

Employment Policies: Adding Individual Policies

If you have some employment policies in place but would just like to add some additional areas, then we can provide individual policies to complement your existing set.

There are a few ‘essential’ policies which we think every business should have:

  • Disciplinary Policy and Procedure
  • Grievance Policy and Procedure
  • Equality and Diversity Policies
  • Health and Safety Policy
  • Working Time Directive

In addition, there are the 'standard’ policies which are likely to be applicable to most businesses:

  • Absence (holiday, sickness and compassionate leave)
  • Adoption
  • Anti-bribery and Corruption
  • Communication and IT Usage
  • Flexible Working
  • Maternity
  • Parental Leave
  • Paternity
  • Shared Parental Leave
  • Social Media Usage
  • Whistle-blowing

The above policies cover most business scenarios; of course, we are also happy to work with you on any ‘bespoke’ policies.

Service Key Features

  • Provision of additional policies to support your changing business needs.
  • Development of policies specific to your business.
  • Confidence that you have everything in place to make managing people that little bit easier.
  • The work can be performed either onsite, offsite (by phone and email) or a bit of both.
