Careers at LighterHR

Could you be our next LighterHR Consultant or Executive?

Join our HR Consultancy

At LighterHR, we pride ourselves on really understanding the challenges that our clients face and have built a team of HR consultants that provide pragmatic, proven solutions and advice, rather than “one size fits all, read from a script” guidance.

We do not operate a call-centre model; our consultants know their clients as it’s only by understanding the people and environment that we can really help businesses to accurately assess their risk and options when dealing with HR issues.

We employ all our consultants; we do not use freelancers or interims. We invest in everyone in our team to make sure they are the very best they can and want to be, and have every opportunity to develop their career within our company.

With our business growing continuously, predominantly from client referrals, we are keen to expand the team with experienced HR practitioners.

Roles that we are looking to fill at present are:

HR Consultant

Responsibilities of a LighterHR Consultant

As a consultant in a growing company, your role will be varied as in addition to providing onsite and offsite delivery to clients, you will contribute to many aspects of the business operation.

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Undertake HR project work, for example, the design and implementation of performance appraisal processes, either as an individual or team (of client and Lighter HR resources).
  • Assist clients in articulating their issue and identifying the underlying cause(s).
  • Provide practical and pragmatic guidance of solution options, ensuring that the client is aware and agrees to any risks associated with the client’s chosen solution.
  • Undertake HR activities, for example, disciplinary and grievance investigations and meetings, with or on behalf of clients, and guide clients through the Employment Tribunal process.
  • Produce detailed written guidance notes which give clear direction to clients, and the supporting information leading to chosen solution
  • Produce contracts and policies for clients, using the Lighter HR templates, to meet the business requirements.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications

In order to be considered for the role you must have:

  • Level 5 CIPD qualification (absolutely essential).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience gained in a challenging HR environment.

(If you don’t meet these requirements, come back as soon as you do as we’d love to hear from you then).

Note: For the roles we are looking to fill at this time, you don’t need experience of working for a consultancy

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain HR experience supporting a client base across many different sectors, such as Fashion and Retail, Creative Advertising Agencies, Technology Research & Development, and Finance.

The role requires providing operational HR support to our clients. You’ll be responsible for supporting recruitment activity, onboarding employees and processing leavers. You’ll get to learn about HR documentation including contracts and policies, different HR systems and, through the support you’ll give to our HR consultants, you’ll gain exposure to complex employee relations issues.

The role offers plenty of opportunity for growth and an ideal first role for someone just starting their HR career.

The main responsibilities of the role are:
